Budget 2019: As India's first full time Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is all set to table the Union Budget 2019 on July 5, the newly elected Narendra Modi government brings you an opportunity help the Ministry of Finance in drafting the budget. As the Budget for 2019-20 is likely to spell out roadmap for several industries, the government is giving a chance to the common man to play a pivotal role in pushing India towards USD 5 trillion economy. The Central government has posted a banner on its 'my Gov' app inviting ideas and suggestions from people across all sections of the society. The tagline for this initiative says: ‘Inviting ideas and suggestions for Union Budet 2019-2020’. Led by Sitharaman, the Finance Ministry aims at making this budget a participative and inclusive exercise. The government says that it is looking forward to hearing ideas and suggestions for the Union Budget 2019 from the people of this country. "We seek your valuable ideas to continue the tradition of the Union Budget incorporating the citizens’ aspirations. Citizens from all walks of life are welcome to be a part of this democratic exercise,” a statement from central government on my Gov app read. The Finance Minister also took to Twitter and sought ideas and suggestions from people across the country. In a tweet from her official Twitter handle, Sithraman thanked everyone from scholars, to enthusiasts and economists for their valuable suggestions on Budget 2019. She has said that she read most of those suggestions which her team carefully collated for her. Sitharaman also said that she valued every bit of ideas and further requested people to keep sending ideas.
Here is how to send your ideas and suggestions to Central government for Budget 2019: Step 1: Download the 'my Gov' app on your smartphone Step 2: Open the app and click on the banner which reads 'Inviting ideas and suggestions for Union Budget 2019-2020' Step 3: Type your ideas and suggestions in the comment box or attach a PDF file below Step 4: Hit the submit button The last date to send your ideas and suggestion for Budget 2019 is June 20. Sitharaman has already started meeting experts and industry veterans as a part of the pre-Budget consultations. She is scheduled to meet economists, banks and financial institutions as well as industry chambers between June 11-23. The state finance ministers are also expected to give their suggestions for Budget 2019-20 to the Centre during the GST Council meeting slated for June 20. The 59-year-old JNU alumnus is likely to address key agendas including slowing economy, financial sector troubles like rising NPAs and liquidity crisis in NBFCs, job creation, private investments, exports revival, agrarian crisis and raise public investment without compromising on fiscal prudence.Grateful for every thought/idea that’s being shared by scholars, economists and enthusiasts through print, electronic, and on social media.
