Ashneer Grover Visits Statue Of Liberty; Shares His Thoughts On Lok Sabha Election Results. Here's What He Says

Ashneer Grover's remarks sparked a wave of responses on social media. Many users echoed his sentiments, applauding the democratic process

BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover, currently in the US, took a moment to visit the iconic Statue of Liberty in New York. During his visit, Grover shared his perspective on the recently concluded 2024 Lok Sabha elections, praising the Indian electorate for their discernment. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Grover expressed that the election results were a testament to India's robust parliamentary democracy.

"Apt day to be visiting 'The Statue of Liberty!' As the great Indian Elections wrap up, Junta showed everyone they can cut across the noise and are smarter than all politicians/pollsters. Respect," Grover tweeted.

He said, "For me, the result reinforces one thing - India mein parliamentary democracy hai. Sab MP chun rahe - not PM. So better MP candidate selection at micro constituency level made all the difference between perception and reality."

Grover's remarks sparked a wave of responses on social media. Many users echoed his sentiments, applauding the democratic process. One user commented, "Well put, Ashneer! No one person got more than his seat, as it should be. India is the greatest democracy on earth." Another user praised Grover's balanced viewpoint, stating, "For someone who voices out opinions at the top of his voice - you do seem balanced/reasonable! Good stuff, man."

Meanwhile, last month the Delhi High Court has granted permission to Ashneer Grover and his wife, Madhuri Jain Grover, to travel to the US, albeit not simultaneously. As per news reports, the court has mandated that the couple furnish a security of Rs 80 crore before their travel.

This decision follows an incident in November 2023 when the couple was barred from boarding a flight due to a Look Out Circular (LOC) issued by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW). After challenging the LOC, the court has now allowed their travel under specified conditions. Grover is permitted to travel from May 26 to June 12, while Madhuri Jain Grover can travel starting June 15.
