While we still enjoy the description of being a cricket-obsessed nation, our performance in other sports speaks of the country's versatility and passion.
New Delhi (India), February 23: If one looks at the progress of India in the sports space, it has been an impressive journey over the past few decades. With Indian sportspersons representing the country on the world stage and bagging appreciation and honours for their grit and persistence, the country has come a long way. Several sports have joined the list over the years and multiplied the opportunities to shine bright on the globe. While we still enjoy the description of being a cricket-obsessed nation, our performance in other sports speaks of the country's versatility and passion. One sport that has gained massive popularity over the past few decades is Mixed Martial Arts. Combat sports were unheard of not very long ago until super coach Alan Fenandes who is also India's first professional mixed martial arts fighter, popularized MMA across the nation.
As the year 2023 unfolds, Matrix Fight Night (MFN) CEO Alan Fenandes is gearing up for four big shows that he has recently announced. The saga will start with the 11th chapter of Matrix Fight Night, MFN 11, in March 2023. The year-end show in Dubai in 2022 was a grand success, and going forward, MFN is set to build on its achievements in the Indian MMA space.
Over the decades, Fenandes has emerged as a renowned coach and promoter of mixed martial arts. He has played a significant role in taking MMA in India to new heights, and MFN is proof of his commitment and passion for the sport. With MFN Contenders coinciding and collaborating with AIMMAA Nationals 2023, the promotion is all set to discover and showcase the best upcoming talent in the Indian MMA space.
Alan says, "Foreign promotions eyeing India cannot ignore what MFN has achieved"; he believes that every promising name that emerges from AIMMAA as an amateur or professional out of MFN bears testimony to MFN's potential and efforts.
Matrix Fight Night is owned by Tiger Shroff and Ayesha Shroff, and with Alan Fenandes at the helm, the promotion will continue to create ripples in the Indian MMA scene and popularize it globally. As a coach, Alan has trained champions across various MMA divisions and has even trained Bollywood celebrities. He has a strong belief in the potential of Indian MMA, and thus he is trying his best to promote it and make it a grand success in the global MMA space.
We have our fingers crossed and hope for an unending honour and victory for India in the amazing combat sports category of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).
