New Delhi: According to a study, an insight reveals the increased demand for used cars in India and which cars demand the most attention from buyers. Due to the increased need for personal mobility and long waiting periods for new cars, the used car market has grown and will continue to do so.
Currently, some of the most demanded used cars include the Maruti Dzire and the Ertiga plus the Hyundai Creta. Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai dominate the demand with nearly all Maruti cars being popular- especially with its Wagon R also having a lot of interest.
The Ertiga and Dzire though dominant amongst Maruti cars with the boot of the Dzire and the spacious Ertiga making them a more practical choice. The same is with SUVs, as the best-selling Creta also has huge demand in the used car market.
The Creta with its diesel and petrol automatic versions in particular are sought after. The previous generation Creta continues to be the most in-demand SUV plus followed by the likes of the Tata Nexon and the Maruti Brezza since the previous Brezza used to have a diesel engine.
In sedans, the Honda City is also a fairly popular choice. With long waiting periods for new cars further increased by the ongoing chip shortage, the used car industry shows no sign of slowing down at the moment.
Other used cars which are popular include the Toyota Innova which remains a popular choice plus the Fortuner and Ford Endeavour (post-Ford exit, demand has increased) while in luxury space, Mercedes, Audi, Land Rover are in demand as well.
