With the ever growing popularity of small SUVs, the hatchback has faced its biggest competition yet and for the new Swift, its biggest rival would be the Tata Punch. The Punch is now the best selling car. We thought it would be best to compare it with the newest Maruti hatchback. So here is a comparison of the specs on offer.

Which Car Is Bigger?

The Punch is slightly shorter than the new Swift but the Punch is wider and taller of course being a small SUV. The Swift has a sporty look while in its new generation form, it has a tweaked front end plus new alloy wheels. The Punch stands taller and has a tougher stance instead with a Harrier like look which has aged well. Both cars are distinctive but appeal to different sets of buyers.

Which Car Has More Features?

While the Punch EV has a larger touchscreen, the Punch petrol has a standard 7inch one while the Swift has a 9 inch touch screen. Both share features like connected car tech, cruise control, climate control, rear camera and more. The Swift comes with 6 airbags as standard though while the Punch has two. The Punch meanwhile has a sunroof as well.

The Swift and Punch have near similar wheelbase numbers but the Punch has an airier cabin along with the larger boot.

The petrol Punch has an efficiency of 20.10 kmpl while the Swift has an efficiency of 25.72 kmpl with both having a 1.2l petrol engine. Both the Swift and the Punch also have an AMT option.

Which Car Is For You?

Both the Punch and the Swift have their own advantages but are for a different set of buyers. The Punch is for those who need a smaller SUV with the ground clearance along with needing more space. The Swift on the other hand has more efficiency and puts the focus on dynamics being a sporty hatchback.
