Exter — Hyundai Unveils Next SUV For Indian Market To Rival Tata Punch

The Hyundai Exter is developed for India and that means it is suited to our tastes while being bigger than the Casper.

Hyundai has revealed the name of its next SUV for the Indian market and it is called Exter. The Hyundai Exter will rival the likes of the Tata Punch and the Nissan Magnite plus the Renault Kiger of course. The Hyundai Exter is made for India and designed for the Indian market in mind. It is not the Hyundai Casper which is the micro SUV from Hyundai for some global markets.

The Hyundai Exter is developed for India and that means it is suited to our tastes while being bigger than the Casper. It is also based on the Nios platform and will get 1.2l petrol engines with AMT and manual transmissions on offer. The Hyundai Exter will be below the 4m and smaller than the Hyundai Venue. The name and the positioning of the Casper is aimed to be a lifestyle youthful car with the teasers being shown.

The Hyundai Exter will be launched towards the end of the year during the festive season. We expect high equipment levels like on any Hyundai including a part digital instrument cluster plus a large touchscreen along with features like climate control and more. The Exter won't get turbo petrol mostly since the Venue will get it.

The Exter is very crucial for the Indian market since the micro SUV segment has taken off and the Exter is expected to add to the tally of SUV sales as well. Currently, Hyundai sells the new Venue and the Creta in the competitive compact SUV segment and now the Exter will add to the lineup in being the entry-level model for Hyundai in India in terms of SUVs. Stay tuned for more information on the Exter soon.
