Elon Musk's Tweet Sets The Ball Rolling. Two More States Offer To Set Up Tesla Factories After Telangana

Offers To Elon Musk: Following a tweet by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, several Indian states have offered him to set up Tesla car factories.

New Delhi: After a tweet by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, several Indian states have offered him to set up a Tesla car factory in their state.

Telangana was the first one to do so in the list of states, after which Maharashtra and West Bengal followed suit. Maharashtra Water Resources Minister Jayant Patil made his offer through a tweet on Sunday. 

He wrote on Twitter that his state (Maharashtra) could be the place to set up Tesla's manufacturing plant for manufacturing electric cars in India.

Patil wrote in a tweet, "Maharashtra is one of the most progressive states in India. We will provide you with all the necessary assistance from Maharashtra in order to establish in India. We invite you to set up your manufacturing plant in Maharashtra."

In addition, the West Bengal government also offered Tesla to set up a car plant in the state. West Bengal Minister Mohammad Ghulam Rabbani presented this offer as a response to the tweet by Elon Musk.

Rabbani said he (Elon Musk) can visit West Bengal, where they have the best infrastructure and his leader CM Mamata Banerjee has a good vision. He further wrote that meaning of Bengal is business.

Earlier, Telangana Industries and Commerce Minister KT Rama Rao had tweeted his offer to Elon Musk to set up a Tesla factory in Telangana.

Telangana Industries and Commerce Minister KT Rama Rao wrote in a tweet, "Hi Elon, I am the Minister of Industries and Commerce of the State of Telangana in India. It will be a pleasure to work in partnership with Tesla on the challenges of setting up businesses (Shop) in India/Telangana."

He further wrote, "Our state is a champion in sustainability initiatives and a top-grade business destination in India." Let us tell you that recently Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted confirming that the car manufacturer is "still working through a lot of challenges with the government." It was after this that he received these offers.
