Chitragupta Puja 2023: It is a Hindu religious festival that is celebrated on the day of Kartik Shukla Trayodashi (the third day of the bright fortnight of the Hindu month of Kartik). This festival is dedicated to Lord Chitragupta, the recorder of deeds in the court of Yama, the Hindu god of death.

The legend of Lord Chitragupta is mentioned in the Bhagavad Gita. According to the legend, Lord Chitragupta is a Brahmin who was created by Lord Brahma to keep a record of the good and bad deeds of every human being. On the day of Kartik Shukla Trayodashi, Lord Chitragupta sits in the court of Yama and judges the souls of the deceased. He weighs their good and bad deeds and decides their fate in the afterlife.
