'YSRCP Leaders Forgot My Sacrifices': Y S Sharmila Amid Discussions Over YSR Legacy
In a recent development, Sharmila criticized the YSRCP for overlooking her sacrifices and claimed that they were now singling her out.
Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president YS Sharmila, on Monday, accused the leaders and members of the ruling YSRCP of neglecting the sacrifices she made for the YSRCP's survival. Stating that she was under attack from YSRCP workers, Sharmila reminded party leaders and supporters of her 'selfless work' as a foot soldier without any aspirations for a position. She highlighted her extensive 3,200 km padayatra (political walkathon) over several months.
Sharmila's statement comes amid Jagan’s followers wanting the APCC chief to leave YSR’s legacy to brother.
In a recent development, Sharmila criticized the YSRCP for overlooking her sacrifices and claimed that they were now singling her out. Emphasizing her identity as the daughter of former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, she expressed disappointment with the party's treatment.
"I did not desire any position. For YSRCP's survival, I selflessly took all that load on my shoulders as a woman and toured 3,200 km as part of the padayatra," Sharmila, who recently took over as the APCC president, as per PTI.
Challenging the YSRCP leaders to clarify any suspicions, she advised consulting Pranab Mukherjee's son considering that late President's was no more. Sharmila came against the YSRCP worker's criticism and asked that if she or her husband coveted a position why would she embark on a padayatra for the party.
Moreover, she contended that her brother Jagan Mohan Reddy changed after assuming the role of chief minister.
