Vijayawada Oil Refinery Blaze: Dense Smoke Engulfs Area, No Casualties Reported

A dense smoke engulfed Kanuru area after a huge fire broke out at an oil refining plant located on the outskirts of Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday. No casualties were reported as the fire erupted when the premises were vacant.
Upon receiving the alert, five fire engines were promptly sent to the scene and they subdued the flames successfully after sometime. Initial investigations suggest that the fire originated from a potential short circuit within the facility, which processes crude oil into grease.

Based on preliminary investigation, the police suspect the rapid spread of the fire was facilitated by the presence of petrochemical products. Fire department officials, equipped with advanced firefighting equipment, utilized foam compound to extinguish the flames.
It was noted that the facility lacked a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the fire services. Consequently, the police have initiated an investigation and registered a case in this regard.
