Supreme Court Posts Chandrababu Naidu's Plea To Quash FIR On October 9

The Supreme Court also asked Andhra Pradesh government to submit the entire compilation of documents in the Skill Development Scam Case which were submitted before AP court.

The Supreme Court asked Andhra Pradesh government to place before it the entire compilation of documents which were filed before the High Court in relation to the skill development scam case in which former AP CM Chandrababu Naidu was arrested last month. Further, the SC posted the plea of TDP Chief Naidu seeking to quash the FIR registered against him in the case on October 9.

According to ANI, "Supreme Court asks Andhra Pradesh government to place before it the entire compilation of documents which were filed before the High Court and posts for hearing on October 9 the plea of former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu seeking to quash the FIR registered against him in the skill development scam case."

TDP chief had sought SC to quash an FIR registered against him by APCID in connection with the scam.

In the plea, he argued that he was arrested in an "illegal manner" and was "deprived of his liberty". It was also a purely politically motivated arrest without obtaining the sanction under PC Act.

Earlier, TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu moved the Supreme Court challenging the AP HC order against him in the Skill Development Corporation scam case.

On September 22, Andhra Pradesh HC rejected the plea of Chandrababu Naidu by stating that it could not interfere when the probe was on the fulcrum of attaining finality.

After HC's order, TDP state president K Atchen Naidu said, "The legal wing of the TDP is going through the court judgment in detail and the party will certainly knock on the doors of the higher court to seek justice."

On September 9, Chandrababu Naidu was arrested for allegedly misappropriating funds from the Skill Development Corporation, causing an alleged loss to the state exchequer of more than Rs 300 crore.
