The victim, Siva Kumar, bought the e-scooter on Friday and reportedly plugged it in for charging the battery in the living room of his house

New Delhi: Days after an 80-year-old man died due to an electric vehicle battery explosion in Telangana's Nizamabad, yet another similar incident took place in Andhra Pradesh's Vijayawada where K Siva Kumar, a 42-year-old DTP operator, lost his life due to a battery blast of his new Boom Corbett 14 electric scooter.

"The vehicle was in the front room and they slept in the room behind it when the battery exploded at around 3 AM. Following the explosion, the electric wiring of the house got burnt emanating smoke.
