Bihar Fire: Rahul Gandhi Attacks Modi Over Nawada Arson, Accuses PM Of Backing Conspiracy Against Dalits

Bihar fire: Rahul Gandhi slammed PM Modi for his silence on the Bihar Dalit colony arson, calling it an endorsement of atrocities against Dalits.

Nawada fire news: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Nawada fire in Bihar that allegedly targeted Dalit families. He said that PM Modi's "silence" on the incident indicated his approval of atrocities against Dalits.

"Such anarchist elements find shelter under the leadership of BJP and its NDA allies. They intimidate and suppress the Bahujans of India so that they cannot even demand their social and constitutional rights. And the silence of the Prime Minister is a seal of approval for this big conspiracy," Rahul Gandhi said.

Probe Ordered Into Nawada Arson

On Wednesday, a group of miscreants set fire to at least 80 homes in Bihar's Nawada district. The attackers first fired shots in the Mahadalit Tola area before setting the houses on fire. The violence took place in Deodoor Krishna Nagar, which comes under the jurisdiction of the Mufassil police station.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has ordered a high-level investigation into the incident. He said that the guilty will not be spared at any cost.

'Injustice Against Bahujans': Rahul Gandhi On Nawada Fire

Rahul Gandhi said that the burning down of an entire colony of Mahadalits in Nawada and the destruction of the houses of more than 80 families reflected the injustice against the Bahujans in Bihar. Gandhi said even the cries of the Dalit families who had lost their homes could not wake up the sleeping government of Bihar.

"The Bihar Government and the State Police must take immediate and strict action against all the culprits of this shameful crime and provide complete justice to the victim families by rehabilitating them," Gandhi demanded.

'Jungle Raj Of The Demon King': Tejashwi Yadav On Bihar Fire

Former Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav also slammed the Nitish Kumar government and Prime Minister Modi over the Bihar Dalit colony arson. After the fire on Wednesday, he posted on X: "Great Jungle King! Great Demon King! Great Demon King! More than 100 houses of Dalits were set on fire in Nawada. Bihar is on fire under the rule of Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar does not care... Atrocities on Dalits will not be tolerated."

On Thursday, he slammed former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi. He said: "Whoever is guilty of the Nawada incident should be arrested immediately... Manjhiji has no concern for the truth. Manjhiji is in power [with the NDA] in Patna and Delhi."

Mayawati Demands Rehabilitation Of Dalits

Mayawati, meanwhile, chose not to attack the NDA government in Bihar directly, but sought financial aid for the affected people. "The government should take strict legal action against the culprits and also provide full financial help for the rehabilitation of the victims," she said.
