Netanyahu's speech at Munich Security Conference 'cartoonish circus'
Munich [Germany], Feb 18 (ANI): Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif hits back at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by branding his speech at the Munich Security Conference (MSC) on Sunday as a "cartoonish circus."
Zarif, who took the stage shortly after Netanyahu's fiery speech, said, "You were the audience for a cartoonish circus just this morning which does not even deserve the dignity of a response," reports The Times of Israel.
Earlier in the day, Netanyahu, in his speech at MSC, brandished a rectangular piece of dark green metal which he called "a piece of that Iranian drone, or what's left of it, after we shot it down."
Holding the wreckage, Netanyahu asked Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, who was sitting in the crowd: "Do you recognize it? You should, it's yours."
According to the reports, an Iranian drone that crossed into Israeli airspace was intercepted by the Israel Air Force on February 10, sparking a flare-up between Israel and Syria, with an Israeli F-16 shot down and an extensive Israeli strike against Iranian and Syrian targets in Syria.
The Iranian foreign minister also hinted at Netanyahu's current legal troubles, saying "Israel's major problems are its years-long criminal occupation policies, and I'm not even talking about its corruption."(ANI)
