Nepal: RJP-N's Central Committee to decide on poll participation

Kathmandu [Nepal], August 7 (ANI): Nepal's agitating party demanding constitution amendment, Rastriya Janata Party- Nepal (RJP-N) has started its Central Committee meet to decide on going for civic polls in Province 2.

Earlier, the RJP-N held its office bearers meet for four days and focused on the issue of party's participation in the final phase of local polls slated for September.

Majority of the participatory members suggested that the party should not participate in elections till the Constitution Amendment bill is passed and should continue with its protest.

The central committee meeting is expected to make a final call over the issue.

"This meeting will decide over the issue of amendment and the participation in polls on the basis of the discussion that was held before," a leader told ANI seeking anonymity.

The meeting will also decide further over the issue of the amending the charter of the party for the participation in the polls, though they are in intention to denounce it.

The meet will further decide over the future plans and strategies of the party too.

It is the first central committee meeting of the RJP-N after it was formed through the unification procession held three months before.

Currently, it has 815 in central committee and there are six members in the presidium.

The date for the conclusion of the central committee member meeting is not known yet. (ANI)
