LWF 2017 Day 1: Disha Patani sashays down runway for Ritu Kumar

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], August 17 (ANI): Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017 kicked off on August 16 with key designers such as Ritu Kumar, Masaba and Sanjay Garg presenting their collections on Day one.

Disha Patani, Sayani Gupta, Sonal Chauhan and Sanya Malhotra walked the ramp as showstoppers for their respective designers.

The 'MS Dhoni: An Untold Story' star took centre stage for Ritu Kumar whose theme for the season 'Sweet Surrender' was inspired by 18th century French marquise fashion juxtaposed with a deliberate deshabille look of the 80s with soft pastel colour tones & bold, tropical prints.

"I am a sporty girl and I like being comfortable and this dress is so chic and pretty yet comfortable that I just felt like dancing on the ramp. I can even do stunts in this! I feel so lucky that I walked for a legend at such an early stage of my career," Disha told media post the event.

The collection's colour palette was a melange of sorbet colours- peach & prosecco, canary yellow, minty melons interspersed with bright pops of calico blues & reds.

Outfits included signature shirt- dresses, asymmetrical tops, short dresses and off-shoulder tops. Easy fabrics like chambray, schiffly & tulle dominated the collection with ruffles & frills adding a delicate femininity to the line. (ANI)
