Ice skaters roll over the frozen canals of Amsterdam

Amsterdam (Netherlands) [UK], Mar. 4 (ANI): An unusual moment is seen at Amsterdam, as the natives and tourists have started practising impromptu ice skating on the frozen canals under the presence of cold wave.

For the first time in six years, a part of two main canals of Amsterdam, named Prinsengracht and Keizersgracht, have frozen hard enough to bear the weight of dozens.

The people of Amsterdam utilised this opportunity to go for ice skating. Even those who are not interested in skating are visiting the frozen canals to click photographs and enjoy the unusual scenario.

A woman even took his dog out for a stroll on the frozen canal.

One of the skaters said that now he is able to roam around the city at a faster pace by rolling onto the frozen canal, which otherwise used to pose hindrance while skating. (ANI)
