West Bengal Train Accident: Helpline Numbers Released After Major Tragic Collision | ABP News

A significant train incident took place in West Bengal on Monday, June 17, 2024. In Jalpaiguri, the Kanchenjunga Express, carrying passengers, collided with a goods train, resulting in a severe impact that caused several coaches of the Kanchenjunga Express to derail. The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 AM. Specifically, train number 13174, the Kanchenjunga Express, collided with the goods train, leading to the derailment of two coaches. As reported by the police, five individuals lost their lives in the accident, with many others sustaining injuries. Following the incident, rescue teams and local residents promptly arrived at the scene to assist in the rescue efforts for the passengers.
