UP Teacher Recruitment: CM Yogi Takes Action in 69,000 Teacher Recruitment Case | ABP News

The Allahabad High Court recently made a significant ruling in the 69,000 teacher recruitment case, declaring the merit list invalid. This decision raised questions about whether the Uttar Pradesh government would comply with the court's order or appeal to the Supreme Court. However, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has confirmed that the state government will adhere to the High Court's directive. CM Yogi Adityanath announced on X, "The Basic Education Department has updated me on all aspects of the honorable court's decision in the 69,000 teacher recruitment case. The department has been instructed to act in accordance with the observations of the Supreme Court and the decision of the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court. The Uttar Pradesh government's clear stance is that the benefits of reservation provided by the Constitution must be afforded to candidates in reserved categories, ensuring no injustice to any candidate." Prior to this, UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya and NDA ally and Union Minister Anupriya Patel had welcomed the High Court's decision. Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav also welcomed the court’s ruling, stating, "The 69,000 teacher recruitment has unfortunately fallen victim to BJP's scams, frauds, and corruption. We demand a new, just list to ensure transparent and fair appointments."The Allahabad High Court's single bench had previously not recognized ATRE (Apex Talent Reward Exam) as a qualifying exam. The Lucknow double bench overturned this order, referencing the 1994 Reservation Rules and 1981 Basic Education Rules, directing the government to issue a new merit list within three months, adhering to reservation guidelines.
