Rescue And Relief Work In Progress After Mumbai-Howrah Express Derailed | ABP News
Early on Tuesday, July 30, a train accident occurred in Chakradharpur, Jharkhand. Train number 12810, the Howrah-CST Express, derailed near Chakradharpur. Reports indicate that six people were injured in the incident. The locomotive involved in the accident was numbered 37077. The accident happened around 4:00 AM between Rajkharaswan West Outer and Barabambu stations. Railway medical teams have started rescue and relief operations. Staff and the ADRM (Additional Divisional Railway Manager) along with the ARM (Assistant Railway Manager) are present at the site. All injured passengers have received first aid from the Indian Railway medical team. The train collided with a stationary freight train. Approximately five coaches of the Howrah-Mumbai Mail Express derailed and subsequently crashed into the parked freight train. The railway authorities have confirmed that more than six people were injured and are being transported to the Chakradharpur Railway Hospital. The exact cause of the accident is not yet clear. Photos from the scene reveal the severity of the incident. At the time of the derailment, a freight train was stationary on the adjacent track, and the derailed coaches collided with it. An air ambulance has been dispatched to transport the injured to the hospital. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities have been reported.
