Police Arrest Dawood Sheikh in Connection with Navi Mumbai Murder of 20-Year-Old Yashashree Shinde
In Navi Mumbai, adjacent to Mumbai, the police have arrested Dawood Sheikh in connection with the murder of 20-year-old Yashashree Shinde. Uran police apprehended Dawood Sheikh from Shahpur Gulbarga in Karnataka, and he is being brought back to Maharashtra. A few days ago, Yashashree Shinde's body was found in the bushes near a railway station in Navi Mumbai. BJP and Hindu organizations are calling this a case of 'Love Jihad.' It has emerged that in 2019, the girl's father had filed a complaint against the accused. The murder is believed to be an act of revenge for this complaint. The girl's body was recovered from the bushes near Uran railway station. The police believe she was killed between 3:30 and 4:30 PM after leaving her office in Navi Mumbai on a half-day leave. The family reported that the victim's father had filed a police complaint in 2019 against the accused for harassing his daughter, which led to this act of revenge. Former BJP MP Kirit Somaiya met with the victim's family and demanded strict laws against 'Love Jihad.' In a post on 'X,' Somaiya stated that he met with the victim's family along with local MLA Mahesh Baldi and promised swift action to apprehend the culprits. Tagging Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Somaiya called for the creation of a law against 'Love Jihad.'
