Pahalgam Terror Attack: Public outrage sparks protests; infiltration route traced, Sonouli border on high alert

Widespread anger has erupted across parts of Jammu and Kashmir following the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 and injured 13. Locals took to the streets in protest, demanding justice for the victims and stronger action against terrorism.According to early findings from intelligence agencies, the terrorists entered India through the Pir Panjal mountain range. After crossing the border, they moved through Rajouri, then Chhatru and Wadhwan, before reaching Pahalgam. This region lies near the Reasi and Udhampur districts and is home to a large Gujjar-Bakarwal population. Authorities believe the terrorists chose this path to blend in with civilians and avoid detection. In response to the attack, security has been significantly increased along the India-Nepal Sonouli border. As per PTI, UP Police, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), and intelligence agencies are jointly monitoring the area. Individuals crossing the border are now being thoroughly verified to prevent any terrorist movement.
