A major train accident occurred in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, on Saturday morning when two coaches of the Somnath Express derailed just 200 meters before reaching the platform. The incident caused panic among passengers. Authorities quickly arrived at the scene after receiving the information. The accident took place around 5:50 AM, but fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported. Harshit Srivastava, CPRO of West Central Railway, stated that the Indore-Jabalpur Overnight Express (train number 2291) was approaching Jabalpur railway station and was heading towards platform number 6 when two of its coaches suddenly derailed about 200 meters from the station. Since the train was moving at a very low speed, no passengers were harmed. Had the train been moving faster, the outcome could have been much worse. All passengers are safe and have continued their journeys home. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
