India Rain Fury: State Highway Washed Away In Rajasthan, 11 Rivers In Spate, Flash Floods From MP To Nepal

Monsoon rains have turned devastating across India, with visuals of destruction emerging from several states. In Rajasthan, a newly constructed state highway—yet to be inaugurated—was washed away by the raging Mahisagar River. The road, which had just been completed, couldn’t withstand the force of the overflowing river, raising serious concerns about construction quality.In the visuals, people are seen risking their lives crossing the river over the submerged road. Meanwhile, the monsoon continues to wreak havoc across states like Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Uttarakhand, with 11 major rivers flowing above the danger mark.In Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district, 43 schoolchildren and 6 teachers were stranded due to flash floods. The SDRF managed a successful rescue. In another heart-wrenching incident, a young boy was swept away in a swollen river while bathing. Despite a friend’s desperate effort to save him, the boy drowned.Nagpur also reported severe waterlogging, damaging homes and appliances as sewage and rainwater entered houses overnight. In Nepal, torrential rains destroyed the Maitri bridge linking it to China, and at least 18 people—Nepali and Chinese citizens—are reported missing in the floods.
