Budget 2024: The first budget of the third term of the Modi government was presented in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday (23 July). In this budget, the government has made many big announcements for all sections of the youth, women, poor and farmers. Modi government is calling this budget far-reaching, while the opposition is continuously attacking. After giving third consecutive term to Narendra Modi government, everyone had high expectations from this budget. The Finance Minister has tried to give something to the poor, middle class and rich in the budget. The biggest relief for crores of new tax regime taxpayers of the country has come in the form of increase in standard deduction. But, they have also got some disappointment due to increase in short term and long term capital gains tax and abolition of indexation benefit. Salaried class and pensioners will benefit. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said during the budget speech that her main objective was to provide relief to employment, skill development, small industries and middle class. This is the reason why the government has announced incentives for companies that provide training to staff. Corporate tax has been reduced for foreign companies. Also, Mudra loan has been doubled for cheap loans for higher education and for the convenience of small businessmen. Apart from this, changes have also been made in the new tax regime. The Finance Minister said that this will save Rs 17,500 annually for the salaried class. Deduction on family pension for pensioners has been increased to Rs 25 thousand. About 4 crore people will benefit from this.
