Samajwadi Party MP Ziaur Rehman Barq from Sambhal appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) today for questioning in connection with the recent violence in Sambhal. Though he has been granted protection from arrest by the court, he was directed to cooperate fully with the investigation. Ahead of the questioning, Barq addressed the media, stating he respects the law, trusts the judiciary, and will fully support the investigation despite not being in good health. Sources say the SIT has prepared over 100 questions, many directly linked to the day of the violence — including his location, interactions, and communications. The questioning is expected to continue for 4-5 hours. This session could play a crucial role in determining the next steps in the investigation. Notably, the SIT is also probing Zafar Ali’s statements, which reportedly mention Barq. The proceedings today may bring key clarity in the high-profile case.
