Election Result 2024: Indore Sets Two Unique Records In This Lok Sabha Election | ABP News
Madhya Pradesh's Indore broke the record for the most number of votes given to the 'None Of The Above' (NOTA) option following Congress' appeal to select the same in the Lok Sabha 2024 Elections. The Indore constituency recorded over 2 lakh 'NOTA' votes, surpassing the previous record for the maximum number of votes given to the NOTA option. The previous record was set by the Gopalganj constituency in Bihar during the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections.
As per the latest data on the official website of the Election Commission of India (ECI), NOTA received 2,11,742 votes in Indore. This is the second-highest number of votes after the sitting Member of Parliament from the Indore Lok Sabha seat, Bharatiya Janata Party's Shankar Lalwani, who won with a record 12,26,751 votes and is set to be the Member of Parliament for the second successive term. There were 13 other candidates, including Independent ones, contesting from the Indore Lok Sabha seat, all of whom received fewer votes than NOTA.
