Jammu Kashmir Results 2024: BJP Rides High In Jammu With 43 Seats, Yet Faces Growing Discontent As National Conference-Congress Alliance Gains Momentum In 2024 Elections | ABP News
In the first elections since the abolition of Article 370, the BJP has gained a lead in Jammu's 43 constituencies, with the party ahead in 28 seats. Meanwhile, the Congress-National Conference alliance has shown strength in 12 seats. However, the BJP struggles to make an impact in Kashmir, where the alliance collectively leads in 39 seats. Concerns have arisen regarding increased militancy in Rajouri, and local dissatisfaction has emerged among various groups, including Kashmiri Pandits. Despite a notable rise in tourism, with 2.8 million visitors to Kashmir in the past year, political returns have not met expectations. The region's dynamics remain complex, influenced by nationalistic sentiments and unfulfilled promises of development.
