A day after the hearing in Ayodhya Land dispute case was deferred further as one of the judges from the 5-Judge bench was on leave; the government has filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court and have sought claim of the undisputed land in Ayodhya. The government has sought claim of 66 acre land, which excludes the disputed 0.3 acre land. As only 0.3 acre land is disputed land, where the Babri Masjid was constructed. The government has sought permission of construction on the remaining 2.77 acre land. The government has asked to hand over the undisputed land to Ramjanambhoomi Nyas.
