The security forces have achieved great success amid the ongoing encounter in Pulwama. Riyaz, 32, was an A ++ category terrorist. The militant hails from Naiku village of Panjgam in Avantipora, South Kashmir, and had a reward of 12 lakhs. 

Riyaz, who became a terrorist in 2012, has been involved in many terrorist attacks. Earlier he was in Lashkar-e-Taiba, later joined the Hizbul Mujahideen. Naiku became the chief of Hizbul in Kashmir in 2017.
