Villagers Rescue Leopard Stuck In Well Using 'Fire Jugaad'. WATCH

At first they lower a ladder, hoping that the leopard will climb on to it and come out. However, the idea failed after which the villagers came up with another 'jugaad'.

There have been several instances where wild animals have strayed into urban settlements and got themselves stranded. One such incident happened recently in Karnataka, where a leopard somehow got itself stuck in a well. The villagers later helped free the distressed big cat. The clip of the rescue, since being shared on the microblogging site Twitter by Sahana Singh three days ago has gone viral.

The video opens to show villagers and government officials trying to free the distressed big cat from the well. At first they lower a ladder, hoping that the leopard will climb on to it and come out. However, the idea failed after which the villagers came up with another 'jugaad'. They lowered a flaming torch inside the well due to which the leopard got scared and can bee seen crawling up the well.

"Somewhere in Karnataka. A leopard fell into a well and even when a “ladder” was offered, it was cowering inside. So they put a stick of fire near his bum which forced him to climb the scaffolding & run away into the jungle. How they rejoice! Man, Nature & Jugaad. 😊 Got it on WA," read the caption of the post shared by Singh.

Since being shared, the video has accumulated over 1 lakh views, 1,092 likes and several comments.

"Excellent effort. Happy to see that leopard is saved and sent back to jungle," commented one user on the post.

"Awesome ! The happiness of these people as the leopard escapes ....," wrote another user.

"Every rescue operation is unique and has its complexities that vary with the species of the animal involved, availability of resources, location, infrastructure and many more. Good team & presence of mind works well. Forest staff are experienced in handling such situations," wrote Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Sudha Ramen.
