IPS Officer Claims Students Kept Money Inside Answer Sheets, Sparks Chatter Online

The currency notes of various denominations was shared by one of the examiners with the IPS officer.

A post shared by Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Arun Bothra that claims currency notes were kept by students in answer sheets in order to bribe evaluators for giving them pass marks has gone viral on the internet. Bothra also shared an image showing currency notes of Rs 100, Rs 200 and Rs 500 kept inside answer sheets of board exams.

The currency notes of various denominations was shared by one of the examiner checking the papers with Bothra. Sharing the pic, the IPS officer raised concerns about the education system of the country.

''Pic sent by a teacher. These notes were kept inside answer sheets of a board exam by students with a request to give them passing marks. Tells a lot about our students, teachers, and the entire educational system," read the post shared by Bothra on microblogging site X (Formerly Twitter).

Since being shared, the post has been viewed more than 1 lakh times and has received tons of comments.

"This has happened to me at least thrice during my paper correction days! To colleagues too even 20 years ago. The money is usually accompanied by a sad story narration instead of answers to exam questions. Needless to say, such students usually fail," commented one user on the post.

"It tells about the rot in the society as a whole," wrote another user.

"These students see so much news of bribery in media, about repeat offenders & stories how "cash" works in so many Govt. Offices.....! Stories of how work gets done in exchange of  cash......etc. This creates  confidence in the system of bribery & its effectiveness !," wrote a third.

"They should debarr such students and set an example. Kudos to the teacher...," wrote a fourth.
