Veteran Telugu Actor Kaikala Satyanarayana No More

He was suffering from age-related ailments over the past several days.

Veteran Telugu actor Kaikala Satyanarayana died in the wee hours on Friday at his Filmnagar residence. He was 87. The last rites will be performed on Saturday at Jubilee Hills Maha Prasathanam in Hyderabad.

He was suffering from age-related ailments over the past several days.

Satyanarayana, also known as Navarasa Natana Sarvabhouma, was born on July 25, 1935, in the Andhra Pradesh district of Krishna. He worked with more than 200 filmmakers and appeared in more than 770 movies.

Satyanarayna, who had a brief stint in politics, had served as Member of Parliament representing the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

Many celebrities and politicians expressed shock over demise of the versatile actor.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao condoled the demise of veteran Telugu actor Kaikala Satyanarayana and recalled his friendship with the famous actor in a statement on Friday.

CM K Chandrashekhar Rao said "Kaikala Satyanarayana has endeared himself to Telugu people with his innate ability to play any type of character in Telugu films."

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy also expressed grief over the passing of Sri Kaikala Satyanarayana, who was also a former Lok Sabha member.
 
"The towering film personality has placed an element of pride in Tollywood, playing a variety of roles in various genres from mythology to crime thrillers with explicit expressions," the Chief Minister wrote on his Twitter handle.

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu expressed grief over the passing of Sri Kaikala Satyanarayana and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family members.
