Kamareddy Road Accident: PM Modi condoled the death of 9 people who were killed in a road accident in Telangana's Kamareddy and announced an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the kin of the deceased
Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday condoled the death of nine people who were killed in a road accident in the Kamareddy district of Telangana and announced an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased. PM Modi also announced a compensation of Rs 50,000 for those injured in the accident.
The Prime Minister's Office (PMO), in a tweet, said, "Distressed by the loss of lives due to an accident in Kamareddy district, Telangana. Condolences to the bereaved families and prayers with the injured. Rs 2 lakh each from Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) would be given to the next of kin of the deceased. The injured would be given Rs 50,000: PM Modi."

In a major road accident on Sunday evening, nine people were killed and 20 others were injured in a head-on collision when a truck collided with a minivan in Kamareddy district in Telangana. According to reports, the road accident occurred around 5 pm in Yellareddy Mandal.
There were 26 passengers in the minivan. Police identified the injured as belonging to Pitlam Mandal Chillargi village. The injured were shifted to Yellareddy and Banswada hospitals for treatment.
The deceased have been identified as Anjavva, 35, Veeramani, 35, Lachavva, 60, Sayavva, 38, Sailu, 35, Ellaiah, 53, Poshaiah, 60, Gangavva, 45, Veeravva, 70, said news agency ANI report.
