As earlier reported by ABP Live, Telangana Health Minister T Harish Rao reviewed the situation in the state after India reported four monkeypox cases. The state health authorities urged the people not to worry as it is not a fatal disease.

The health department has emphasised that health facilities should keep a tab on people who complain of unexplained rashes and have a travel history to abroad in the last 21 days to a country that has recently had confirmed or suspected cases of monkeypox.

Meanwhile, chief scientist at the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr Soumya Swaminathan, on Monday said that the monkeypox outbreak has been a "wake-up call".
