Telangana: Hyderabad Doctors Protest Against Assault On Colleague By Covid Patient's Kin
Over 100 doctors boycotted to attend the patients at Government Chest Hospital in Hyderabad as many had to strive on Monday
Hyderabad: While the doctors have been grinding at hospitals day-in and day-out due to the ongoing pandemic, there has been a constant threat to their lives for patients and their kins behaviour. In Hyderabad, on Sunday, a Covid patient's kin assaulted a doctor at the Government Chest Hospital. The repercussions have been unpredictable as the fellow doctors started protesting and boycotted work on Monday.
When asked one of the protesting doctors about the incident, Dr Pranay said, "After examining the patient, the doctor asked his attendants if he took his BP medicine. The kin got furious saying 'It's your job, not ours & thrashed him.'
Such incidents have been happening, we protest & then the issue is diluted. We've been demanding security from the government for ages but to no avail. How many more will be brutally hit like this?," added Dr Pranay.
