Telangana Cong Chief Revanth Reddy Attacked With Eggs, Tomatoes During Padyatra

However, Revanth Reddy accused the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) for the attack and continued his speech. 

Chennai: Telangana Congress Chief Revanth Reddy came under an attack after miscreants started throwing eggs and tomatoes at him while addressing the gathering during “Hath Se Hath Jodo Padyatra” in Bhupalpally on Tuesday.

According to ANI, “Bhupalpally, Telangana | Eggs were thrown at Telangana Congress Chief Revanth Reddy while addressing the gathering during “Hath Se Hath Jodo Padyatra” in Bhupalpally on Tuesday."

However, Revanth Reddy accused the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) for the attack and continued his speech.

Later, supporters of both parties pelted stones at each other. A policeman sustained head injuries in the clash.

The clash started after BRS supporters reportedly started raising slogans against Revanth Reddy during his address. They also hurled eggs and tomatoes at Revanth Reddy. The security personnel of the Congress leader immediately shielded him by holding a piece of cloth around him to avoid the attack. 

The police also secured the protesters and kept them at a cinema hall. However, the Congress members started to pelt stones on BRS members in the theatre. The clash went on for a few minutes and the glass pane of the theatre was damaged. A sub-inspector also suffered injuries.

Normalcy was restored after the public meeting was over. Later, Revanth Reddy left the venue.
