Telangana Chief Minister KCR Inaugurates Viprahitha Brahmin Sadan, Reaffirms Commitment For Community's Welfare

Telangana Chief Minister announced several incentives for the welfare of Brahmins in the state.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao expressed his confidence in society's progress and the country's prosperity during the inaugural function of the Viprahitha Brahmin Sadan (Brahmin Sadan) in Hyderabad on Wednesday. Addressing the audience, the chief minister highlighted the importance of Dharma (righteousness) and its role in bringing accolades and achievements in the future. 

Speaking about the significance of Brahmanatva in Indian culture, the Chief Minister emphasised the role the community plays in today's society. He acknowledged the pivotal role of priests (Purohits) in fostering harmony and well-being in the places they serve. 

Chief Minister KCR hailed the Viprahitha Sadan as the first of its kind in the country. He reiterated the state government's commitment to strengthening Sarvajana (all sections of society). He detailed the initiatives taken by the government to support the Brahmin community, including the establishment of the Brahmin Sankshema Parishad and an annual allocation of Rs. 100 crore for welfare schemes.

Scholarships And Welfare Schemes Announced By KCR

The chief minister highlighted the overseas scholarship program, known as Brahmin Educational Scholarship Trust (BEST), which has benefited 780 students so far. He also announced the allocation of Rs 150 crore for BEST. Furthermore, Chief Minister Rao announced the construction of three more Bhavans in Suryapet, Khammam, Madhira, and Beechupalli under Brahmin Parishad.

During his address, Telangana Chief Minister announced several incentives for the welfare of Brahmins in the state. He revealed that the honorarium for Veda Pandits would be increased to Rs 5,000 and the age limit reduced to 65 years.

“On this auspicious occasion I would like to announce that Archakas (temple priests) who are currently paid Rs. 6000 to help maintain temples will now receive Rs. 10,000,” KCR said at Gopanpally on Wednesday.

Additionally, the Dhupa Deepa Naivedya scheme would be extended to 6,441 temples across the state.

Furthermore, the fee reimbursement scheme for IIT and IIM students would now be implemented for Brahmin students, and the annual grant for Veda Schools would be increased to Rs 2 lakhs per annum.
