'Stand By Farmers': Telangana CM Revanth Reddy At CET Conference In Davos

Telangana CM Reddy addressed a diverse audience that included World Food Prize Winner David Nabbarro and the Vice President of Tanzania, Philip Mpango.

Stressing on the need to create sustainable models of agriculture, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy urged world leaders to "stand by the farmers" while addressing CET conference on Food Systems and Local Action at Davos on Thursday. The CM sarted his speech at the World Economic Forum's annual meeting on a personal note and said agriculture was "our culture".

"I'm the son of a farmer and agriculture is our culture. Currently serving as the Chief Minister of Telangana, a state in India, I hail from a humble background in a small village, providing me with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by our farmers," said Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

In a video shared by the Chief Minister's Office on its official Twitter handle, CM Reddy expressed concerns about a significant issue in Indian agriculture, farmer suicides. He said, "This is the biggest problem in India. Farmers struggle to sell their produce, make profits, and lack access to technology."
