Make In India Has Become 'Joke In India’, Telangana CM KCR Says At BRS Rally

Addressing the public meeting of BRS in Khammam, Party chief KCR said free power would be provided to farmers across the country if a 'BRS proposed government' captures power at the Centre in 2024

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday displayed strength along with three Chief Ministers and other national leaders at the BRS public meeting in Telangana's Khammam. He also made some key promises besides taking a dig at the BJP-led Centre by saying 'Make in India' initiative has become a 'Joke in India.

Addressing the first public meeting of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Khammam, BRS supremo KCR said free power would be provided to farmers across the country if a 'BRS proposed government' captured power at the Centre in 2024, following polls to the Lok Sabha. He also said that the Rythu Bandhu scheme will be implemented in the whole country if BRS is given a chance. KCR also demanded the ruling BJP implement the Dalit Bandhu scheme across the country.

"Make in India has become Joke in India. There is Make in India, but there are China bazaars in every street (in the country),” he said ridiculing the NDA government's flagship programme. He further said if BRS comes to power, the Agnipath scheme for recruitment in Armed forces would be abolished.

Schemes like Telangana’s Rythu Bandhu (for the welfare of farmers) should be implemented throughout the country and it is his party's slogan and demand, KCR asserted. He slammed the BJP and Congress, alleging that both the parties are responsible for interstate water issues.

He said the BRS is opposing tooth and nail the 'disinvestment of LIC'. Presided by BRS President Rao, the meeting was attended by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, his Kerala counterpart Pinarayi Vijayan, CPI General Secretary D Raja and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav.

KCR Announces Rs 250 Crore To Develop Khammam

CM KCR during the BRS rally in Khammam announced Rs 248.9 crore towards the development of the district from the CM's Special Fund. He announced Rs 10 lakh for each 589 grama panchayats along with Rs 10 crore for each of the major panchacyats, which have a population of above 10,000.

He also sanctioned Rs 50 crore for the development of Khammam municipality besides announcing Rs 30 crore each for the municipalities in the Khammam district.
