Lok Sabha 2024: BRS Plans Campaign In All Maharashtra Assembly Constituencies

During his address in Hyderabad, Rao recommended that the BRS leadership highlight the Telangana development model in Maharashtra.

In a major expansion exercise, the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Telangana headed by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Thursday announced its intention to conduct a campaign in all 288 assembly constituencies in Maharashtra. During his address after inviting leaders and social organbkisations from Maharashtra, who joined BRS at Pragati Bhavan in Hyderabad, Rao recommended that the BRS leadership highlight the Telangana development model in Maharashtra. According to the IANS report, he suggested the formation of nine committees in each village, involving participation from all sections of the community.

During his address, KCR emphasised the need to widely disseminate the Telangana development model, with a particular focus on the welfare of people and farmers. He suggested utilising various communication channels such as leaflets, booklets, social media, posters, and hoardings for this purpose. The BRS chief expressed the party's commitment to extending Telangana's successful schemes to the people of Maharashtra, and he acknowledged the support received from individuals across different walks of life, including farmers.

KCR expressed his disappointment with the Maharashtra government's failure to provide adequate irrigation water to the state's farmers, despite the abundance of water resources available. He highlighted the fact that while many leaders from Maharashtra have held positions as chief ministers and union ministers, the welfare of the people has not been properly addressed.

The BRS leader mentioned the implementation of the Dharani portal and the digitisation of revenue records by the Telangana government. He highlighted the quick and transparent registration process facilitated by Dharani, which takes only 10 minutes. The leader also mentioned several measures taken to promote agricultural development, including initiatives like Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bhima, 24-hour free electricity, and free irrigation for the farming community.

During a previous public meeting held on May 19, KCR announced a month-long programme aimed at expanding the presence of BRS throughout Maharashtra, said IANS.

At the inauguration of a training camp for party leaders, he expressed the party's intention to undertake an extensive campaign, targeting over 45,000 villages and 5,000 municipal wards in civic bodies. KCR instructed party workers to visit five villages each day, engaging with the local population and sharing meals with Dalits.
