G. Lasya Nanditha, a Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA, died in a car accident near Hyderabad on Friday morning. She was 33. The tragedy occurred when the car she was in collided with a traffic barrier on the Outer Ring traffic (ORR) near Patancheru, news agency ANI reported. The MLA's driver was hurt in the collision. BRS president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao condoled her demise.

Taking to X, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stated: "The untimely death of Cantonment legislator Lasya Nandita left me deeply shocked. I had a close relationship with Nandita's father Swargiya Sayanna. He passed away in the same month last year... It is very sad that Nandita also died suddenly in the same month. My deepest condolences to their family...I pray to God to rest her soul in peace."

Lasya Nanditha was elected in the Secunderabad Cantonment seat during the recent elections.

Earlier, her father, G. Sayanna, a five-time MLA from Secunderabad seat, died of sickness on February 19, 2023. He is survived by three daughters, news agency IANS reported.

The BRS has fielded his eldest daughter, Lasya Nanditha, in the November 30 Assembly election.

The MLA escaped with minor injuries in a road accident on February 13 in Narketpally while on her way to Nalgonda to attend a public gathering hosted by BRS president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. The mishap killed one of the home guards.
