BRS Announces Campaign Incharges For 54 Constituencies
The campaign incharges of remaining constituencies are most likely to be announced in the next day or two in Telangana.
In the run-up to Telangana Assembly elections, the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) announced election campaign incharges for 54 constituencies in the state. The party appointed ministers, MPs, MLCs, chairpersons of corporations, and senior leaders as election campaign incharges. One of the three incharges for Kamareddy, one of the two seats KCR is running for, would be BRS President and Minister KT Rama Rao, who is also the son of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
Gampa Govardhan, a sitting MLA, and S Subhash Reddy, a sitting MLC, are the other two in charge of the prominent district.
One of the three incharges in Gajwel from where KCR is seeking re-election will be his nephew and minister T Harish Rao. MLC Yadava Reddy and chairman V Prathap Reddy will be the other incharges.
KCR's daughter K Kavitha has been assigned as the charge of Bodhan and Nizamabad Urban constituencies. The MLC previously represented the Nizamabad Lok Sabha seat, which includes both Assembly segments.
Gangula Kamalakar, minister for civil supplies, is in charge of the Choppadandi constituency. Satyavati Rathod, the minister for tribal welfare, will oversee the Mahabubabad election campaign. Transport Minister P Ajay will be in charge of Madhira while Secunderabad Cantonment has been entrusted to Labour Minister T Srinivas Yadav.
The ministers will oversee electioneering in designated segments as well as the election campaigns in their individual constituencies. In the next day or two, the in-charges for the remaining constituencies are most likely to be announced.
Meanwhile, BRS MLC K Kavitha who attended ABP Southern Rising Summit opposed I.N.D.I.A bloc and took a dig at PM Modi.
At the summit, Kavitha said, "Leaders like Mamata Banerjee, Naveen Patnaik, Jagan Mohan Reddy, KCR, who can independently garner many seats, can be a game changer. Not BRS. And I believe after the elections in the five states, the I.N.D.I.A might crumble. Discussions may emerge and the results might change the opinions of the parties in I.N.D.I.A."
Taking a dig at PM Modi, she said, "When PM Modi came to power, he talked about his 56-inch chest and said 'we will not let anybody enter'. But China is regularly making inroads into India."
