6 Die After Fire Breaks Out At Residential Complex In Secunderabad

The preliminary investigation revealed that the fire was due to a short circuit. 

Six people died after a massive fire broke out at a residential complex at Secunderabad in Hyderabad on Thursday. The deceased were identified as four girls and two boys.

According to ANI, North Zone DCP Chandana Deepthi said, "Six people including four girls and two boys died in the fire. They were inside the complex when the fire broke out. By the time they were taken out, they were critical and were declared dead on being taken to a hospital. We also managed to rescue 7 people."

Syed Rafiq, Additional DCP, South Zone said, "Around 7:30 pm a fire broke out due to a short circuit. Fire engines were rushed to the spot and rescue operation is underway."

On Thursday, Telangana Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav also visited Swapnalok Complex at Secunderabad. Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav said, "Fire engines and rescue teams have reached the spot & have controlled the fire. There are still 5-6 people stuck in a room inside the building. Rescue teams are using iron rods to break the wall & rescue everyone inside, so far they have brought 11 people down."

Swapnalok Complex has small and big shops, commercial offices and residences. The workers reportedly leave by 6 pm in the complex. Likewise, on the day of the accident, the fire broke out after the workers left, said a report on The Indian Express.
