Need To Create Global Protocol To Address Rising Challenges Such As AI, Crypto, Cybercrime: PM Modi In Dubai

Prime Minister Modi said, "We need to listen to the voice and needs of the Global South. We need to bring their priorities to the forefront."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a keynote address at the World Governments Summit (WGS) in Dubai on Wednesday, covering a range of topics from India's economic progress to global challenges in technology. Emphasising the need for international collaboration, he proposed a "global protocol" to tackle emerging issues like artificial intelligence, cryptocurrency, and cybercrime.

PM Modi said, "We need to share our resources and our capabilities with the nations who need it. We need to create a global protocol to address rising challenges such as artificial intelligence (AI), cryptocurrency, and cybercrime. [translated from Hindi]"

The Prime Minister added, "We need to listen to the voice and needs of the Global South. We need to bring their priorities to the forefront."

Highlighting the importance of inclusivity, PM Modi stressed the necessity to amplify the voices and priorities of the Global South in global decision-making processes. He urged for reforms in global governance institutions to better represent the developing world. He said that in doing so, nations will not only be able to tackle immediate challenges that governments are facing right now but also foster a global bond and strengthen cooperation. 

The Prime Minister touched on various other subjects during his address. He said that in recent years, there has been a notable rise in public confidence in the Indian government, according to Prime Minister Modi. He attributes this increase to the government's focus on addressing public sentiments and demonstrating its intent and dedication. PM Modi emphasized the importance of prioritizing the concerns and aspirations of the citizens in governance.

Further, PM Modi reiterated his administration's commitment to minimising government interference in citizens' lives, advocating for a principle of "minimum government, maximum governance." He highlighted initiatives promoting women's empowerment, including parliamentary reservations and efforts to enhance opportunities for youth, envisioning India as a burgeoning hub for startups.

In essence, PM Modi's addresses underscored India's proactive stance on global issues while reaffirming its commitment to inclusive growth and sustainable development.
