Microsoft Finally Rids Skype Users Of Annoying Ads, Improves AI Image Creation Tool

In addition to removing ads from Skype, the latest update enhances the AI Image Creation tool for Skype Desktop and introduces OneAuth support for iOS users.

Gone are the days when Skype users used to be frustrated over the video conferencing platform being flooded by ads. Microsoft has finally rolled out an update to make the platform completely ad-free for users. Now the users no longer will see ads in the main chat interface or in the channels section. Moreover, this update will improve the AI image creation tools on Windows and macOS. Furthermore, it will also introduce an automatic sign-in feature for iOS users who are already logged into another Microsoft app.

Irene Namuganyi, Skype product manager in a blog post wrote, “Our latest update removes all ads from Skype channels and the entire Skype platform, ensuring a smoother, decluttered and more enjoyable user experience.”

Microsoft has said that by removing ads, users will now be able to focus on their chats without being distracted and it will ensure uninterrupted browsing across channels. The tech giant also claims that it has kept user feedback in mind and created a more streamlined and pleasant environment for Skype across all platforms.

AI Image Creation Tool Improvement & OneAuth Support

In addition to removing ads from Skype, the latest update enhances the AI Image Creation tool for Skype Desktop and introduces OneAuth support for iOS users. With the upgraded AI Image Creation tool, users can generate impressive images directly within their chat window, featuring enhanced capabilities and design adjustments. This tool can be accessed from the chat window or the top bar. The user interface has also been improved, offering one-click access to view generated images and a new back button on the ideas page.

The update also integrates OneAuth for iOS users, enabling automatic sign-in to Skype if they are already logged into other Microsoft apps on the same device. This new method replaces the previous sign-in process, allowing users to access Skype without re-entering their passwords. Previously, this feature was only available for Android users.

Additionally, the update addresses several bug fixes. Microsoft has resolved issues related to media file sharing over 5G networks, incoming call acceptance on iOS devices, and notification pop-ups for some users.
