Google Meet New Feature: AI-Powered 'Take Notes For Me' Feature To Write Minutes Of The Meeting Now
When activated, this AI-driven tool automatically generates notes of the meeting's discussions in Google Docs.
Google has been dedicated to enhancing the overall user experience and making its consumers feel that they are using a top notch product. In continuation to this, Google has recently announced the rollout of a new 'Take Notes For Me' feature on Google Meet to select Google Workspace customers. Gone are the days when you had to manually write down the Minutes of the Meeting (MOM). This new Gemini AI powered feature will help you out by relieving you of that duty.
What this new feature essentially does is that it takes notes during a meeting and provides a summary of discussions for the people who have a tendency of joining the meeting late.
As of now, this new feature is only available to Google Meet PC users.
According to the tech giant, the "Take notes for me" feature will be available to all Google Workspace users who have Gemini Enterprise, Gemini Education Premium, or the AI Meetings and Messaging add-ons starting September 10. Currently, the feature supports only the English language.
How Will Google Meet's New 'Take Notes for Me' Feature Work
In a blog post about the new feature, Google described how the "Take notes for me" option in Google Meet works. When activated, this AI-driven tool automatically generates notes of the meeting's discussions in Google Docs. These notes are then saved to the meeting owner’s Google Drive and linked to the calendar event, making them accessible to participants within the organization. If meeting recording and transcriptions are enabled, these files will also be included in the notes document.
Another notable feature is "Summary so far." If you join a meeting after it has started, this tool will notify you that Google Gemini is taking notes and provide a summary of the discussion up to that point. It will also update you on the current topic being discussed.
