Google Chief Sundar Pichai Lauds Elon Musk's SpaceX Milestone: Here's What He Tweeted

Musk's tweets got notes of admiration from Nobel Laureate Demis Hassabis and Chairman of Mahindra Group, Anand Mahindra, as well.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai took to social media to congratulate Elon Musk on SpaceX's latest achievement with Starship. Pichai expressed his excitement in a post on X (formerly Twitter), commenting on the record-breaking feat that advances Musk’s ambitious mission to Mars. "Huge congrats, have to admit, rewatched the video many times over, incredible to see!" Pichai wrote in response to a video Musk shared, where the SpaceX founder triumphantly announced, "The tower has caught the rocket!!"

Joining in the celebration, Demis Hassabis, co-founder of Google DeepMind and a recent Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry, also praised the accomplishment with a simple yet enthusiastic post:

Meanwhile, Anand Mahindra, Chairman of Mahindra Group, was equally thrilled by the achievement. Sharing a video on X, Mahindra showcased the impressive moment when the lower half of Musk’s Starship — during its fifth test flight — made a flawless return to its launch tower. Captured mid-air by giant mechanical arms, known as “chopsticks,” this landing represents a historic breakthrough in reusable rocket technology. In a playful nod to Musk’s space vision, Mahindra quipped, “Where can I buy my ticket, @elonmusk?”

A Significant Leap For SpaceX

This successful test marks a significant leap in Musk’s quest to make space travel more sustainable and affordable. The Super Heavy booster’s clean landing and capture signal a major step forward for SpaceX in its pursuit of creating a fully reusable rocket system, key to future missions to Mars. Just 18 months ago, the Starship project faced a setback when a rocket was destroyed shortly after liftoff, but now, the engineering advancements are clear.

SpaceX’s latest triumph highlights not only Musk’s bold ambitions but also the relentless progress in space technology, bringing humanity closer to the dream of interplanetary travel.
