5 Top Smartphones Launched In 2022
As 2022 draws to an end, we look back and reflect on what smartphones made it to the best ones (in various price segments) in these eventful 12 months.
We have witnessed more than hundreds of smartphones being launched in the past year and they stood out in one way or another. As 2022 draws to an end, we look back and reflect on what smartphones made it to the best ones (in various price segments) in these eventful 12 months.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra - Best Of Note And Galaxy S
Samsung is the unarguable leader in making gorgeous AMOLED displays and the Galaxy S22 Ultra is proof (read our full review here). The S22 Ultra is a big smartphone and also the most feature-packed flagship from the house of Samsung yet, with the added advantage of bundled S Pen. The display is bright and gorgeous AMOLED, with a really thin top bezel and a slightly thicker bottom bezel, and you don't have to worry about accidental touches. The smartphone has a balanced design, despite its big dimensions and it is not top-heavy like last year's S21 Ultra. The smartphone's overall performance, excellent cameras and overall user experience make it the best Android flagship smartphone that money can buy right now.
OnePlus 10T - Insanely Fast Charging And Great Battery
The OnePlus 10T comes with the same design language laid out by the OnePlus 10 Pro albeit for the Hasseblad branding (read our full review here). The design of the OnePlus 10T and 10 Pro are starkly different from both the OnePlus 9 series and the OnePlus Nord line. The 10T also misses out on the iconic alert slider. This is a big phone with a 6.7-inch OLED HDR 10+ panel, which is bright and has a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz, with an automatic downsizing of up to 60Hz. The camera is decent and gets most of the job done pretty well. The OnePlus 10T's charging can spoil -- the battery supports the company's proprietary 150W SuperVOOC charging, and it is insanely fast. This is a smartphone that offers good overall performance and insanely fast charging at an asking price of under Rs 50,000.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 - Unique Proposition To Own
Samsung dominates the foldable market with its devices Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip, which are the fourth generation of foldables from the company. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is a refined and evolved foldable, which most of its rivals are trying to replicate. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is one of the top recommended smartphones of 2022 that brings much-needed camera upgrades and is a productivity-driven tablet-cum-phone. A big display on the inside and a smaller screen out on the front, upgraded cameras and S Pen support, Samsung has made this year's Fold a true flagship in every sense. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 may not be a perfect phone, but it is definitely not like any other smartphone available out there. The Z Fold 4 is a good smartphone with great productivity, S Pen support and upgraded cameras. The overall form factor makes it a unique proposition to own.
Google Pixel 6a - Buy It For The Cameras
The Pixel 6a is like other flagship Pixel phones repackaged into the Pixel A series phones. The Google Pixel 6a is similar to the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro and the phone looks more expensive than it is. It is not a big phone, unlike most out there with bigger than 6.5-inch panels. The Pixel 6a's panel is more made for one-handed use and is lightweight. The Pixel 6a has an excellent set of cameras, the Sony IMX363 and Sony IMX386 for imaging. Photography from the main camera has almost no noise and super clarity. Google has mastered the A Series with the Pixel 6a, thanks to the excellent cameras and decent overall performance.
Vivo X80 - Almost A Flagship
The Vivo X80 is a good smartphone, which comes with three cameras, a good display and a fast chipset. The Vivo X80 has a striking design and the rear has a posh, matte finish, making it perhaps one of the most eye-catching devices launched in 2022. The phone is a big glass sandwich slab with curving edges all around it and a curved panel. The Vivo X80 is one of the best smartphones launched this year that doesn't cost a bomb and offers almost all the good features under the sun.
