Xiaomi pad 6 price in India starts at Rs 26,999.

Xiaomi has taken the wraps off its latest flagship tablet, the Xiaomi Pad 6. In the best Xiaomi tradition, the tablet has been making waves as much for its specifications and performance, as for its price, with Xiaomi even throwing in some very interesting accessory bundles. Given its price point, its accessories and the software tweaks that Xiaomi has made to make it more productive, the Xiaomi Pad 6 has the potential to ruffle a few feathers among established players like Apple and Samsung.

Xiaomi Pad 6 Specs, Resolution

The Xiaomi Pad 6 comes with an impressive spec sheet for its price. The tablet has an 11-inch display with a 2,880x1,800-pixels resolution and 144Hz refresh rate, which can change between seven levels, depending on the content being displayed on it.

The tablet is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, which was released in 2021, but is still very capable of handling most tasks.

The tablet comes with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS3.1 storage. There is no provision for expandable memory.

The rear panel of the device has a 13-megapixel camera while video calls and selfies are handled by an 8-megapixel camera. The tablet runs on an 8,840mAh battery, and comes with support for 33W charging as well as a 33W charger in the box, which charges the battery in about 100 minutes.

There are four speakers on the tablet with support for Dolby Atmos, but there is no 3.5mm audio jack. You can connect the tablet to other devices using Bluetooth v5.2 or even the USB Type-C port, which supports connectivity to monitors, televisions and projectors (you will need a USB Type-C to HDMI connecting cable, which needs to be purchased separately).

The tablet comes with Wi-Fi connectivity, but there is no inbuilt 4G/5G connectivity. There is no fingerprint scanner, but you get the option to unlock the tablet with your face, although there is less secure and cannot be used for transactions.

The tablet comes with an aluminium unibody and has IP53 splash resistance, while the display comes with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The tablet also has a wireless charging port on the side to charge a stylus. The Xiaomi Pad 6 is 253.95mm tall, 165.18mm wide and 6.51mm thick. It weighs 490 grams.

Xiaomi Pad 6 is available in two shades: Graphite Grey and Mist Blue.

Xiaomi Pad 6 Keyboard

As mentioned, the Xiaomi Pad 6 comes with Bluetooth v5.2 connectivity and also with a USB Type-C port, so you can connect almost any Bluetooth or even a wired keyboard to it (provided it has USB Type-C connectivity).

Xiaomi has also released a keyboard specially designed for the Xiaomi Pad 6, aptly called the Xiaomi Pad 6 Keyboard. It connects to the tablet using connection points on the back of the tablet and also acts as a cover. It is a compact keyboard, with five rows of keys.

It does not have a trackpad, but the keyboard comes with a number of shortcuts for tasks varying from locking the display to locking apps, which can also be customised (you can create your own shortcuts if you so wish). The keyboard is not backlit but has special luminous paint which makes it glow a little in dark conditions.

The Xiaomi Pad 6 Keyboard is available for Rs 4,999 and goes on sale starting today, June 21. One can also get the keyboard bundled with the tablet and stylus as part of the Productivity Bundle being offered by Xiaomi, starting at Rs 34,997.

Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro

Xiaomi had also launched a more powerful Pro version of the Xiaomi Pad 6 in China, the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro.

While broadly similar in design and specs to the Xiaomi Pad 6, the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro comes with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor as compared to the Snapdragon 870 on the Xiaomi Pad 6, and also has 50-megapixel and 2-megapixel dual cameras on the back, as compared to the single 13-megapixel snapper on the Xiaomi Pad 6.

The Pro version also sports a 20-megapixel selfie camera, as compared to the 8-megapixel one on the Xiaomi Pad 5. The Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro has a slightly smaller battery (8,600mAh as compared to 8,840mAh on the Pad 6), but it charges faster at 67W (the Pad 6 charges at 33W).

The Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro, however, has not been launched in India, and from what we know, the company has no plans to bring it to the Indian market in the immediate future. When it does come, it is likely to come with a higher price tag than the Xiaomi Pad 6, given its markedly superior specs.

Xiaomi Pad 6 Vs Xiaomi Pad 5

They might share a broadly similar design and even have similar-sized 11-inch displays, but the Xiaomi Pad 6 is a significant update over the Xiaomi Pad 5. The important differences between the two tablets are as follows:

More powerful processor: The Xiaomi Pad 6 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, which is a step ahead of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 which powers the Xiaomi Pad 5.

Higher resolution display: The Xiaomi Pad 6 has a resolution of 2880 x 1800, which is significantly higher than the 2560 x 1600 resolution of the Xiaomi Pad 5.

Metal body: The back of the Xiaomi Pad 6 is metal. The Xiaomi Pad 5's back was carbonate.

A larger RAM variant: The Xiaomi Pad 5 had two variants, both with 6GB RAM. The Xiaomi Pad 6 has a 6GB variant and an 8GB variant too.

A better-placed selfie camera: The selfie camera on the Xiaomi Pad 6 is on top of the landscape side, rather than the portrait one. Makes for better video calls.

A faster charger in the box: Both the Xiaomi Pad 5 and the Xiaomi Pad 6 support 33W charging, but while the Xiaomi Pad 5 came with a 22.5 W charger in the box, the Xiaomi Pad 6 came with a 33W charger.

Better software out-of-the-box: The Xiaomi Pad 6 comes with a newer version of MIUI designed for tablets, as compared to the Xiaomi Pad 5. The Pad 5 is expected to get updated to this version but not all features be available on the Xiaomi Pad 5.
